2. Information we collect
Information you give us
If you email us, including through the contact or “notify me” forms (which open your own email app), we receive your email address, your name if you give it, and whatever you write. We only use it to reply or, if you asked, to tell you about new guides.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard server logs when you visit: IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page and the date and time. These logs are used to keep the site running and secure.
No analytics or advertising trackers
This website does not use analytics tools, advertising pixels, tag managers or third-party tracking cookies. It does not set cookies of its own.
Web fonts
Our pages load typefaces from Google Fonts. To deliver the font files, your browser connects to Google's servers, which receive your IP address and browser details under Google's privacy policy.
3. Why we use it
- To answer your enquiry and keep a record of the correspondence.
- To send guide updates if you asked for them.
- To operate, secure and troubleshoot the website.
- To comply with legal obligations and to establish or defend legal claims.
4. What we do not do
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. We do not ask for or store payment details.
5. Who we share it with
- Service providers — hosting and email providers that process data on our behalf.
- Legal — where required by law, court order or regulator, or in connection with a merger or sale of the business.
6. How long we keep it
Correspondence is kept for up to 24 months after the matter is closed. Server logs are normally kept for no more than 90 days. Update-list requests are kept until you ask us to stop. We keep information longer only where the law or a dispute requires it.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under the Oregon Consumer Privacy Act and similar state laws, you may have the right to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, to receive a copy, and to opt out of certain uses. To make a request, email hello@brightcommercelab.com with “Privacy request” in the subject line. We may need to verify your identity, and we will respond within the time the applicable law requires. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.
8. Security
We use reasonable measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), to protect the information we hold. No website can guarantee perfect security.
9. Links to other sites
Our guides link to public sources such as government websites. Once you follow a link, this policy no longer applies; please read the privacy policy of the site you visit.

We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. The date at the top of this page shows the current version.
