Bright Commerce Lab LLC publishes plain-English guides about home comfort, energy use and the everyday cost of running a household.
Our company
Bright Commerce Lab LLC is a limited liability company registered in the United States and based in Portland, Oregon. We publish at brightcommercelab.com.
We are a publisher. We are not a manufacturer, a retailer or a licensed HVAC or electrical contractor, and we do not build, sell, ship, install or service any of the products discussed on this website.
What we do
- Explainers — how common home devices such as fans, evaporative coolers and room air conditioners actually work, including their limits.
- Cost and energy context — what drives running costs, drawing on public guidance from bodies such as the U.S. Department of Energy and ENERGY STAR.
- Practical habits — low- and no-cost steps people can take before spending money.
How we are funded
Our guides do not currently carry affiliate links, sponsored placements or paid product promotions, and we do not accept payment from manufacturers or sellers to cover their products. If that ever changes, the affected page will say so clearly at the top, and our Disclaimer will be updated.
Editorial approach
We aim to describe things accurately, including what they cannot do. A small plug-in cooler will not cool a whole house, and we would rather say so than let a reader find out the hard way. Factual statements are linked to public sources where possible, and each guide lists its sources at the end.
We do not publish invented testimonials, fake reviews, countdown timers or "limited stock" messages. Photographs are free-licensed stock images used for illustration; the people shown are not customers or experts.
What we are not
- We are not a news organisation.

- We do not handle orders, payments, warranties, returns or refunds for any product.
